Brexit team score massive own-goal in negotiations

-

ONE of the reasons given for the England football team’s poor performance is that the players are afraid of failure.

It seems they caught this virus from Theresa May and her Brexit negotiating team (“Fox dismay over Brussels bullies”, March 9). In football they call a massive defeat a “walkover”, in politics it is called “negotiations”.

We should announce we are building a cheap electric car, taking back all our fishing rights, buying holidays in bulk from the Caribbean and building all-weather leisure centres in our bigger seaside towns then we can holiday here, too.

If the European car industries, fishing industry or tourism industry complain we can say, “Blame your politicians, not ours.”
