Tony’s raving Rover Adam

-

BLACKBURN manager Tony Mowbray believes there is more to come from Adam Armstrong after his brace kept Rovers on course for promotion with a 3-0 victory over Blackpool.

The on-loan Newcastle striker scored twice in the second half as the leaders extended their unbeaten home league run to 16 matches and moved eight points clear of third place.

“I’m delighted he’s here, delighted he’s helping the team be successful and I look forward to him scoring many more goals,” said Mowbray.

Wigan needed a late goal from substitute Gary Roberts to earn a 3-3 draw with fellow promotion hopefuls Scunthorpe. Manager Paul Cook said: “Great credit to my players for the way they got themselves back into it.”

New Peterborough boss Steve Evans set his sights on a late promotion push after making a winning start with a 4-1 victory against fellow play-off hopefuls Charlton. Evans said: “We’ll give it everything we have.”
