"PEOPLE DONT REALIZE THAT IT TOOK YEARS FOR HIM TO GET THAT HE HAS NOW. YOULL LOOK AT THE CHARTS BACK THEN AND HE WAS AT No. 300. HE DIDNT HAVE HITS" MIGHT WE SUGGETS THE STROKES FRONTMAN JULIAN CASABLANCAS SWOT UP A BIT ON WOODSTOCK HEADLINER JIMI HENDRIX

COLIN FIRTH’S marriage has taken a rather interesting twist now he’s alleged to have written a sympathetic note to his wife Livia’s ex-lover.

Last week Livia Giuggioli, 48, claimed that Marco Brancaccia was stalking her via telephone calls and texts, while also accusing the Italian journalist of emailing photographs of her to Colin, 57, which prompted the Bridget Jones’s Diary star to take legal action through the Italian courts.

However, Livia has now admitted that she had an affair with Marco in 2015 and it has now also been revealed that Colin apparently told him via email: “You have made me suffer but I know you are suffering too.”

Marco says that the fling began after a party at the Bafta winner’s home in Umbria, Northern Italy, in the summer of 2015 and, having admitted to contacting Colin once by email and Olivia twice via messaging service WhatsApp, says the allegations of stalking only came about over fears he would go public with news of the affair. Meanwhile, Day & Night have unearthed a rather interesting side note to the tale. It came to light that Colin had narrated an audiobook in 2013 – Graham Greene’s The End Of The Affair – which tells the tale of an inappropriate liaison between writer Maurice Bendrix and married woman Sarah Miles. At the time the Pride And Prejudice star said of the novel, which was published in 1951: “This book struck me very, very particularly at the time when I read it and I thought my familiarity with it would give the journey a personal slant.” A premonition perhaps?
