Family see dad killed by cinema seat
THE helmets give no clues but Star Wars fans will finally get to see Princes William and Harry in cameo roles as Stormtroopers.
The scene, filmed on a studio tour, was cut when The Last Jedi hit cinemas.
But it has been reinstated for the DVD and Blu-ray release – with fans excitedly guessing who’s who behind the visors.
The scene features Tom Hardy, also playing a trooper, slapping fellow actor John Boyega on the bottom and joking in a US drawl about being “officer material’. A CINEMA-goer died in a freak accident after he became wedged under a VIP seat, it was revealed yesterday.
Father-of-one Ateeq Rafiq, 24, had gone to watch a film with his wife when he dropped his phone.
When he bent down to retrieve it at the end of the film, the electronic footrest on the seat is believed to have clamped down on his head, causing him to panic.
His distraught wife screamed for help, and staff rushed to free him, but he lost consciousness several minutes later after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest.
A security guard, who heard the panic over the radio said: “I ran into the screen and found staff members desperately trying to free a man who was stuck on the floor.
“His head was trapped underneath one of the footrests and there was a real tussle going on.
“It took us 10 minutes to break the footrest and release him, and another staff member started performing CPR.
Paramedics arrived at the Vue Cinema in Birmingham and managed to restart his heart before taking him to Heartlands Hospital on March 9.
But Vue International confirmed in a statement yesterday that he died on March 16.
Sister-in-law Fatima Arzo said: “We are grieving and completely in shock. My sister is in pieces.”
