Britney’s dad weighs into child support row

BRITNEY SPEARS’s defiant dad Jamie is pushing back at her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s demands that she double his monthly £14,000 child support payments.

It’s said that on Wednesday Jamie insisted that Kevin, the father and full legal guardian of Britney’s sons Sean Preston, 12, and Jayden James, 11, releases his 2017 tax return to prove he’s not sponging off the superstar’s monthly contributions.

It has all kicked off because the day before, Jamie, who is the court-appointed conservator of his daughter’s estate, received a letter from Kevin’s lawyer pointing out the success of Britney’s recent Las Vegas residency, which grossed £97million. Her resulting increase in income means she should fork out more to his client and he also demanded to see her 2017 tax return. Jamie, left, hit back saying that her current income has nothing to do with the children’s needs and also requested access to Kevin’s tax returns.

Kevin, 40 (with Britney, left), who has four other children from different relationships, had rung Jamie to say he needed a payment increase to look after the boys at the same level as Britney. However Jamie told him that Britney, 36, was taking care of them the same way she always has since she and Kevin divorced in 2006. He added that he’s maintaining a firm stance until he gets a clear guideline of how the money is being spent, including proof that it isn’t going towards Kevin’s other kids.

After Britney and Kevin’s three-year marriage she suffered a very public breakdown which resulted in her losing sole custody of her sons, and Jamie being put in charge of her finances.
