Baby joy puts smile back on Dec’s face
DECLAN Donnelly was all smiles this morning following news that he is expecting his first child with wife Ali Astall.
The TV host, 42, sported a big grin as he headed into ITV studios yesterday morning, just hours after the good news broke.
It appeared to be business as usual for the busy couple, who started dating in 2013.
Ali, 40, was later spotted leaving their west London home showing off just a hint of a baby bump.
After reports about the pregnancy leaked online at the weekend, Dec confirmed the news in a social media post on Sunday evening.
“Just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely messages,” he wrote on Instagram. “The news has sneaked out a little earlier than we had hoped but Ali and I are delighted to be expecting our first child.
“Thanks for all the love, we really appreciate it.”
It comes after a difficult week for Dec, who will present this week’s finale of Saturday Night Takeaway without his partner and best friend Ant McPartlin.
Ant, who was last week charged with drink-driving, has checked himself into rehab and stepped back from television work.
However, the 42-year-old is said to be “thrilled” for the couple.
An insider said: “Ant is thrilled for Dec and Ali, but the news sparked other emotions because he has always wanted children.”
