My abuse from stepfather by Mel B’s daughter, ten
bitter custody battle with Mr Belafonte. He wants visitation rights to Angel, whose biological father is the Hollywood actor Eddie Murphy.
Mel B, 42, divorced producer Mr Belafonte last November after 10 years together. She claimed he was physically and emotionally abusive.
Mr Belafonte, 42, says Angel thinks he is her stepfather, but the undated letter from the girl shows she wants nothing to do with him. The letter says the worst part of living with Mr Belafonte was trying to stop “the fights and the cursing”.
The youngster recalls one alleged occasion when she was sleeping in her mother’s bedroom and Mr Belafonte came in and woke her up.
She wrote: “I heard Stephen hitting mommy’s hands and it was hard cos I heard it. Mommy said: ‘You slapped my nail off ’. I attempted to fake sleep cause I didn’t want to interfere and get hurt.”
Mr Belafonte has claimed that his ex-wife’s refusal to let him see Angel has been “emotionally traumatising” for the girl.
But since Mr Belafonte moved out, Angel says her life is so much better and that she is “happy I don’t see him any more!”
She talks about how she is now allowed to have pets and also sees her biological father, which she did not appear to do before.
In her latest court filing, Mel B said Mr Belafonte’s request to see Angel should be denied because he made her children watch videos of Isis beheadings.
The singer and Mr Belafonte have a daughter, Madison, six, for whom Mr Belafonte has joint custody.
He is also trying to get access to Miss Brown’s eldest daughter Phoenix Chi, 19.
During their divorce battle, Mel B claimed Mr Belafonte attacked her after she performed with the Spice Girls at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.
She also alleged that Mr Belafonte paid their former nanny Lorraine Gilles, 26, £230,000 to have an abortion when he got her pregnant.
Mr Belafonte strongly denied the claims.
