Hammers put up fan barrier
WEST HAM will install a security barrier near the directors’ box at the London Stadium for Saturday’s visit of Southampton to prevent a repeat of the crowd trouble which marred their last game.
But the move has already received a complaint after one disabled fan said it has forced him to be moved from his usual seat.
West Ham say that it is only a possibility he might need to move and that the temporary measure would affect only three wheelchair seats. Almost 20 fans have now been issued with lifetime bans after the shameful scenes during the 3-0 defeat by Burnley on March 10. Five fans invaded the pitch while hundreds more gathered on the concourse below the executive seats to protest against David Sullivan, left, and David Gold. The joint owners were forced to leave their seats for their own safety, with Sullivan being struck by a coin. Both men intend to be at the match and the barrier will stop supporters getting too close to the directors’ box. TYRONE MINGS is ready to boost Bournemouth by making a return before the end of the season. The left-back has been sidelined with a back injury since last year and was told his season was over. But Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said: “It would be a big lift if we could get him fit. “He is champing at the bit but we have to make sure his injury is OK.”
ITALIAN striker Manolo Gabbiadini wants to quit Southampton and join Lazio in the summer after scoring just four Premier League goals this season.
