‘Upskirt’ pervert jailed for 3 years
A BUSINESSMAN has been jailed for three years after using a shoe spy camera to secretly film up women’s skirts in one of Britain’s wealthiest villages.
Ex-public schoolboy Stafford Cant, 47, fitted a lens to his trainer and roamed around his former home of Alderley Edge, Cheshire, making “upskirt” images.
The management consultant also had a watch and car key fob with spy cameras and a library of 222,000 videos and pictures, including a film showing the rape and torture of a baby.
Cant, who has a masters degree in philosophy, admitted at Chester Crown Court outraging public decency, voyeurism and possessing and distributing indecent images.
Judge Simon Berkson told him: “You filmed people in supermarkets, up the skirts of people simply out shopping or in their workplace where you worked.
“You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself.”
Anna Price, prosecuting, said the offences were discovered after a tip-off and a search of Cant’s home in January.
“When various devices were examined, the defend- ant was found to have accessed indecent images and extreme porn relating to ‘snuff’ and asphyxia,” she said.
“There was a variety of covert recording devices. Shoes modified to carry a camera with no other function other than to record up skirts.
“He even covertly filmed under a desk, filming a colleague’s legs.”
Michael Johnson, defending, said: “He has been utterly disgraced and lost his good character.
“This is a man who had led an unblemished life.”
As well as the jail term, Cant, of Macclesfield, was given a sexual harm prevention order and made to sign the register of sex offenders. Disgraced... Cant
