IS IT TIME TO AXE THE X FACTOR FROM TV?

-

Yes

X FACTOR doesn’t need a shake-up, it needs dumping from our TV screens altogether. It’s way past its sell-by date (“Judges face the axe in X Factor purge”, April 3).

Forget Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne, the first one to go should be Simon Cowell.

And the last thing to do is bring back Cheryl “whatever she’s called these days” to be one of the judges in the new series.

It’s all so tired and stale it needs binning completely.

The viewing figures demonstrate that very well as more and more people watch something else.

No

THE main thing you have to remember about Simon Cowell is that he is a survivor. So all those writing off the X Factor do so at their peril.

I’m not sure the rumours about axing the judges are true and if it was all a publicity stunt then it has worked superbly.

But if Simon is considering revamping the show then I am backing him to ensure it comes back bigger and better than ever.

This is a show that has been on our screens for 15 years and it has become as much a part of Saturday night as the Generation Game was all those years ago.
