George Michael’s boyfriend tells of death ordeal

- By Joshua Haigh

THE boyfriend of George Michael has written a heartbreaking letter to the tragic pop star detailing the difficulties he faced after his death.

Fadi Fawaz, 44, posted a lengthy message on Twitter to the singer, who passed away on Christmas Day, 2016.

The photographer recounts the moment he discovered the 53-yearold singer’s body, and how in the following months he struggled to keep going. He wrote: “Since I saw you last time a lot has happened.

“Xmas Day I went to wake you up to go for Xmas lunch in Highgate but you were dead. (Can you flicking believe that?)

“From that very first moment the world rose from death and pointed fingers at me… I was all alone… they even accused me that I had something to do with your death.” He added: “They stopped all of the support I got from your team.

“I even got denied access to our home in Goring where they even packed my clothes and sent them in bin bags.”

Fawaz claimed that friends and family of the star quickly “turned into savages,” and tried to make his life as difficult as possible. “Basically, all of the puppies turned into savages, deadly creatures. So for the next six months I couldn’t eat and they denied my rights as a partner and a citizen in this world.

“The person you made your number one is now the worst person in the world,” he added.

The post came a day after Fawaz claimed that bailiffs had threatened to take away the star’s belongings because he could not afford to pay an outstanding debt.
