Why Kate looks so Wright for Rio
NEARLY three years after the devastation of losing his wife to cancer, former footballer Rio Ferdinand looks like he has found love again. Rio, 39, and girlfriend Kate Wright were pictured having fun on a luxury 85ft yacht in Dubai. The loved-up couple were on holiday with the ex-England captain’s three children by his late wife Rebecca Ellison – Tia, six, Tate, nine, and 11-year-old Lorenz. Ms Wright, 26, who made her name in reality show The Only Way Is Essex, looked sensational in a white and gold bikini. She and Ferdinand were seen laughing and smiling in selfies posted on her Instagram page with a love heart emoji. One holidaymaker said: “They seemed a very happy family unit. They were clearly having a lovely time and were very comfortable together.” The couple, who started dating in 2016, love working out together and regularly share their routines online. Their romance came after the former Manchester United defender lost his wife Rebecca to breast cancer in May 2015. She was just 34. Rio made a moving documentary about his life afterwards called Being Mum And Dad, which was nominated for a Bafta. The ITV programme showed how he adjusted to being a single parent and spoke about how difficult he found talking about his emotions. Rio met Rebecca, an accountant and former fitness trainer, in the late 1990s when he played for West Ham United. They married in the Caribbean in 2009.
