Markle’s Sparkle for a mind-blowing wedding

- By Gillian Crawley

MEGHAN Markle’s nephew is planning a mind-blowing celebration of her royal marriage next month – by growing a new strain of marijuana named Markle’s Sparkle.

Tyler Dooley, 25, the son of Meghan’s half-brother Thomas Markle, is a partner in a £3.5million cannabis farm in Oregon where the drug is legal.

He last spoke to his aunt three years ago but said she regularly used to babysit him and his brother TJ when they were children. The brothers and their mother Tracy will commentate on her marriage to Prince Harry on May 19 for Good Morning Britain. Tyler smoked his first joint in high school but no longer uses cannabis. Instead he has become “fully immersed” in the business since the drug was legalised for recreational use in 2015.

“Meghan grew up in California and I’m sure has an American view on pot,” said Tyler. “I know in England marijuana is still taboo, but it’s more normal to us here. Prince Harry enjoys a good party. I’d be happy to show them around if they ever come out here and educate them on the medicinal benefits of marijuana.”

When the outdoor growing season begins next month, Tyler, who has a licence to grow medical marijuana, will plant the legal limit of 48 plants to sell to patients for pain relief.

Cannabis is a Class-B drug in the UK and has been blamed for being a gateway to stronger drugs. The powerful strain known as skunk is four times more potent than cannabis of the 1980s. A recent study by the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London warned that a major problem of mental illness – such as psychosis or schizophrenia – triggered by skunk was looming in Britain.

“Yes, the strains are way more potent now,” Tyler said. “But I’d argue against it being a gateway drug.

“Alcohol and tobacco are far more harmful, while prescription pills kill millions in Britain and America every year.

“Marijuana can help people who are coming off opioid painkillers.”
