George Michael’s ex sells his belongings in feud with family

Michael died aged 53 from heart and liver disease on Christmas Day 2016 at his country home in Goring-onThames, Oxfordshir­e.

His body was found by Australian-born Fawaz, who alerted police. It later emerged the boyfriend the had spent Christmas Eve sleeping in his car, yards away from the riverside property and only raised the alarm in the morning.

Fawaz went on to base himself in Michael’s mews house in London. But it sparked a bitter feud with the pop icon’s family.

On one side of the dispute are George’s sisters, Melanie, 55, and Yioda, 57, plus his cousin Alex Georgiou, 49.

They are fiercely protective of the star whose real name was Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou.

Against them is Fawaz, of Lebanese origin, who is said to be a major impediment in the legal process surroundin­g the star’s will and is preventing the fortune from being properly distribute­d.

It has been claimed the singer’s family want to evict Fawaz.

He raised eyebrows after the death of Michael when he tweeted the star had previously attempted to kill himself.

However, he later claimed that his Twitter account had been hacked and the posts were not written by him.

Michael rose to fame in Wham! alongside Andrew Ridgeley, 55.

Then Michael became a global success when he went solo with hits including Careless Whisper and Faith.
