Jailed...control freak who scalded, stabbed and starved her partner
A WOMAN who tortured her boyfriend by scalding, starving and stabbing him has been jailed for seven-and-a-half years.
Jordan Worth, 22, isolated her partner from his family, banned him from their bed, decided what he could wear and took over his Facebook account.
Luton Crown Court heard Worth and her partner – who cannot be named – met at college in 2012 when they were 16.
When they moved in together, Worth began controlling every aspect of his life and hurting him.
Worth, who had previously cared for unwanted animals and raised money for children in Africa, regularly used blunt objects to strike her partner, cut him with knives and refused to get him hospital treatment.
Neighbours often heard the couple arguing and the victim shouting: “Get off me, you are hurting me.”
Worth’s partner, who suffers from hydrocephalus – a build-up of fluid inside the skull – had also been seen with black eyes and burn marks on his skin, which he had said were self-inflicted.
The couple’s neighbours called police last June after hearing a row at their home in Stewartby, Bedfordshire. The ambulance crew noted injuries to the man’s hand and burns to his arms and legs which were being selftreated with cling film.
Prosecutor Maryam Syed told the court how Worth had thrown boiling water over her partner, leaving him with second degree burns on five per cent of his body.
Worth, who now lives in Ingoldisthorpe, Norfolk, admitted controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate relationship, wounding with intent and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
As well as being jailed, she was given a restraining order which prevents her from contacting her former partner indefinitely.
