physiotherapist, all of whom prescribed exercises and special insoles, but none worked.
My husband saw a Foot Rocker on the internet and bought it for me. As soon as the rocker arrived I started to use it and within a week I felt much better. That was four years ago and I still have no trouble. If I feel a little pain I use the rocker straight away. I hope it can help your reader.
A McWilliams, by email I READ with interest your column on March 13 in relation to the article from someone who has a problem with their right leg. This sounds similar to my condition but of course may not be the same.
It took a while for the diagnosis as it is quite complicated but the result was myofibrillar myopathy with ZASP mutations. It is degenerative but not lifethreatening. It comes under the heading of muscular dystrophy but late onset as opposed to children who get it early in life. I have over the years seen various GPs, none of whom have heard of it.
