WE HAVE always believed, when it comes to anti-ageing, that less is most definitely more. So we’re big fans of this summer’s hottest new beauty trend that promises the most subtle and natural results.

Dubbed “slow motion ageing”, the aim isn’t to dramatically alter your appearance but to slow down the hands of time using innovative technology and treatments to shape, tighten and lift.

With the right approach you should be able to press pause on ageing and look the same at 65 as you did at 45. From face-lifting procedures to the latest laser line eraser, don’t miss our guide to this exciting new trend.

AT THE CLINIC NO TRACE FACE AND NECKLIFT

Instalift promises to be one of this summer’s most exciting new treatments. It targets all the major signs of ageing, tightening loose skin and softening lines and wrinkles.

The procedure is carried out in two stages. The first involves Innopen, a new motorised microneedling treatment that creates micro-channels in the skin. Serum that contains a potent blend of growth factors and stem cells is then applied, which encourages skin cells to regenerate.

As the skin repairs itself over the following weeks, new collagen is formed, plumping and tightening the complexion.

The second stage focuses on neck and jawline rejuvenation using high intensity focused ultrasound.

A handheld device delivers a series of ultrasound pulses to the underlying connective tissue in the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.

KNIFE-FREE LIDLIFT

While there are plenty of creams and treatments to tackle under-eye bags, until recently the only way to address sagging skin on the eyelids was by going under the knife.

However, Plexr offers a non-surgical solution. This high-tech treatment uses tiny blasts of plasma energy to shrink and tighten the skin.

Topical anaesthetic is used to numb the area and there may be some puffiness and redness for a couple of days after treatment.

LASER LINE ERASER

Blast away pigmentation marks and smooth skin with Picoway Resolve, a fractional laser that can transform the complexion. This

high-tech laser uses ultra-short pulses that are less damaging to the skin’s surface, meaning less recovery time is needed than after traditional laser treatment.

AT HOME

Cosmeceutical brand Medik8’s R-Retinoate Rejuvenating Eye System, £110 (medik8.com) is an intensive four-week treatment that is designed to soften lines around the eyes. The kit contains micro-channel patches and moisturising and plumping eye masks plus an intensive serum that contains retinol and hyaluronic acid. Shape up in the comfort of your living room with Silk’n Lipo, £449 (currentbody.com), a device that promises to remove fat without surgery. It uses two types of energy to shrink fat cells and tone up the underlying muscle and can be used on the arms, hips, midriff and thighs. Best results are seen after eight to 10 weeks.
