takes those baby steps and he is so quick.

If you are a defender over 6ft it takes you longer to make your steps. If Salah’s running at you and you’re trying to move backwards, it is nearly impossible to stop him. The Spurs defenders could not understand what had just happened. The keeper, Hugo Lloris, was completely baffl ed. Ronaldo 4 Salah 4.5 TEAMWORK Salah is the better team player all day long. But they don’t ask Ronaldo to do it. It’s a bit like when you are the best player in the school team by a million miles. Give me that ball and I will score but I am not doing any chasing back.

Real coaches will also say to him, ‘ Save your legs’. So when he does get an opportunity he is sharp and fresh.

Salah doesn’t have that luxury. He has to stop the leftback getting out. That is the way Liverpool play. When he hasn’t done it, he has had to face Klopp. He’s like, ‘ Come on, we chase back in this team’.

That only makes Salah’s season even better because he is involved in the pressing game and has still scored all these goals – lots of which he has made for himself. I played in a team with Kenny Dalglish and he was a genius who worked his socks off. Salah’s work rate is also fi ve out fi ve. Ronaldo’s is nowhere near that, but it doesn’t matter. “Liverpool Football Club is continuing to work with all of the relevant stakeholders in the UK and Ukraine in an attempt to resolve a situation which has left around 1,000 fans without fl ights to Kiev for the Champions League fi nal,” a statement read.

“Flights chartered by World Choice Sports had been set to take supporters to Ukraine, but a dispute between the Widnes- based travel company and the aviation authorities in Kiev over the size of the aircraft has led to the trips being cancelled.

“Along with offi cials from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Liverpool City Council, UEFA and authorities in Kiev, Liverpool FC has been endeavouring to resolve the issue since it fi rst came to light and will continue to do so until all avenues have been exhausted.”

Liverpool’s chief executive Peter Moore said on Twitter that he was “optimistic” of reaching a “favourable resolution”.

Mayor Anderson said he was “working closely” with Kiev to get the situation fi xed and a solution was “close”.

Liverpool owner John W Henry, meanwhile, chose the eve of the Champions League fi nal to aim a dig at Philippe Coutinho .

The Brazil midfi elder opted for Barcelona in a £ 142million deal in January . But after seeing Barca crash out of the Champions League in the quarterfi nals , Henry chose yesterday to speak up.

“They’ll be watching this weekend and could have been playing,” said Henry referencing both Coutinho and Luis Suarez, who also swapped Anfi eld for the Nou Camp.

“I have a diffi cult time understanding why anyone would want to leave Liverpool.”
