Hearing my grandchildren is priceless

-

TOMMY Robinson says his life has been transformed by his new hearing aids, but the best thing of all is that he can now hear every word his grandchildren say. “Before, my grandchildren would be saying things to me and I wouldn’t hear a thing, or I would have to keep asking them to repeat things. Now I have laughs and jokes with them – and I can hear when they’re making fun of me or up to mischief,” he says.

Friends and family are often the first to notice when someone has a hearing problem, but when Tommy had virtually invisible hearing aids fitted, they were also the first to notice his hearing had improved – even though his hearing aids could not be seen.

“When I got my Amplifon hearing aids, I didn’t tell anyone I had them in, but people noticed the difference in my hearing straight away,” he says. “One of my friends said, ‘Tommy, you seem to be hearing much better, what have you done?’

“I took one of my hearing aids and showed him and he went, ‘Wow, I didn’t know you could get them so small.’ It’s amazing how tiny they can make them now.”

It was his wife, Eileen, who spotted an advertisement for Amplifon, a global hearing specialist with more than 200 UK hearing centres, and suggested he book an appointment for a free hearing test. And now Tommy says, “I wish I had done it much earlier.”

He admits: “It was vanity, to be honest, but as I got older I realised I was missing a lot of conversations. When you haven’t got hearing aids, you seem to hear everything else but the person you are trying to concentrate on.

“My hearing aids have made a massive difference,” he says. “They’re fantastic. They’re brilliant and the value is just unbelievable. To be honest I should have gone to Amplifon much earlier than I did. Now I can really enjoy time with my grandchildren.” Tommy Robinson, Amplifon Customer
