What kind of wimp can’t take criticism?

THIS paper has already exposed how the MP Antoinette Sandbach replies to those emailing her in support of Brexit with threats to report them to the Information Commissioner. Now it transpires a constituent who had sent her a critical email received a reply saying she had been reported to police.
Oh, do grow up dear! Have the police really nothing better to do than soothe your ego and snowflakery? There was nothing threatening or abusive in the email under any recognisable definition of those terms. I got such communications almost daily.
If Ms Sandbach really has involved the police she should be prosecuted for wasting their time. If she has not then she has lied to a constituent. Either way it does her no credit.
MPs should be able to take criticism, fury and indignation from the public and respond proportionately. Any MP who cannot do that is not fit to be at Westminster.
Sadly this ludicrous response merely reflects the wimpish society we have become. Thousands of hours of police time are wasted on hate incident complaints which are simply too trivial to pursue. It seems officers deal with these at the rate of two an hour. The problem is that if anybody is offended police must investigate. It is a nonsense which must stop. We all suffer when police are too busy to pursue burglars and instead act out a bad comedy such as solemnly following up a complaint that a barking dog was racist (yes, they really did).
Chief constables should get a grip and if the law needs changing to help them then the Home Secretary should make that a priority. Meanwhile MPs of all people should set the right example.
