We should follow example set by Italy and Malta

-

SO Italy and Malta have turned away a boat containing about 600 migrants. Good for them.

Why can the UK not turn away illegals who are detected in our ports?

If this were to happen then the vast amounts of our taxpayers’ money that is spent on housing them and paying their legal fees etc. could be directed towards addressing the disgraceful neglect of our older generation, people who have paid their taxes and have an absolute right to be here.

The cost incurred to the country by illegals should be offset against our bloated overseas aid budget.

Think how much could be redirected to the care of our own needy people. Patricia East, Guildford, Surrey
