Meghan avoids a tumble... thanks to Harry

- By John Chapman

IT COULD have been an embarrassing fall in front of the cameras.

But newlywed Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was saved by her dashing prince as she slipped on her way into the wedding of Princess Diana’s niece.

Meghan, 36, struggled with her footing and narrowly avoided taking a tumble as she teetered in sky-high heels in an old village churchyard.

But Prince Harry, 33, was at her side and firmly held his wife’s hand.

The couple arrived smiling and laughing with the other guests before Harry’s cousin Celia McCorquodale tied the knot with George Woodhouse at St Andrew and St Mary’s Church in Stoke Rochford, Lincolnshire, on Saturday.

Celia, 29, is the younger daughter of Lady Sarah McCorquodale.

She wore a lace-bodiced dress and a full veil, held by the diamond tiara worn by Princess Diana at her wedding to Prince Charles in 1981.

Carried

Meghan, meanwhile wore a longsleeved, blue-and-white wrap maxidress and white fascinator.

Her dark hair was pinned up and she wore white high heels and carried a small white clutch bag.

The bride had attended the Royal Wedding and she returned the favour.

She arrived at the church in a 1910 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost and was accompanied by her father Neil McCorquodale.

Meghan and Harry, dressed in a dark morning suit with a blue tie, were warmly greeted by the Spencer clan.

The Prince’s cousin Viscount Althorp, 24, recently dubbed Britain’s most eligible bachelor, gave him a bear hug and kissed the Duchess on the cheek.

The ceremony lasted 45 minutes and guests were invited to a reception at the home of Celia’s parents.
