Elderly are an easy target to help raise more cash

-

PENSIONERS being taxed more comes as no surprise at all (“£24bna-year tax burden on pensioners... and it may rise”, July 9).

Many of these people worked from the age of 14 and some are still working at 75 or older.

The goalposts were moved by the Government on women’s retirement pension age and many have lost thousands of pounds in pension they would have received.

We all know that we pay tax on everything we buy and almost every part of our lives in the UK is ruled by tax.

It seems Government cronies always take the easy option when seeking to swell their coffers and the least resistance comes from the elderly of the UK.
