- By Liz Perkins

US President Donald Trump was full of praise for the “special” Great British public as he pledged to run for the White House again in 2020.

Mr Trump, in an interview which was broadcast in full last night on ITV, allowed an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Air Force One while it was at Stansted airport in Essex.

Not only were viewers given a glimpse at the jet’s “Situation Room,” hotline to world leaders and the details which make it unique, ranging from signed boxes of M&Ms around the plane and a collection of fine wines although Mr Trump is known not to drink and prefers Diet Coke.

In his interview with Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan he spoke of his affection for British people and the Queen, adding: “To have a Queen like that is great.”

He also said he would fight to remain in the White House at the next election. “Well I fully intend to [run in 2020]. It seems like everybody wants me to.”

He added, “you never know what will happen with health and other things,” but said: “I feel good, I fully intend to.”

He also said he was a fan of Prince Harry.

After hearing Harry had told his father-in-law Thomas Markle that he should give Donald Trump “a chance,” the President said: “I don’t know Harry but I like him.

“I’ve always liked Harry, I like the whole family to be honest.

“The whole family for me have a good energy.”

Mr Trump also underlined his determination to have peace as a priority on the show, which was entitled Piers, The President and Air Force One, last night and added: “I would like to see peace.

“A lot of people thought, most people said on day one, ‘We are going to be at war with Trump as President’. But here it is, we are getting rid of wars, we are getting out of wars.”

He also spoke of his negotiations with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
