Let me entertain you...on X Factor, says Mrs Robbie Williams

-

ROBBIE WILLIAMS and Ayda Field will become the first husband and wife together on the X Factor judging panel and will be joined by another new judge – One Directioner Louis Tomlinson – for the new series of the ITV talent hunt.

The trio replace outgoing judges Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne.

Robbie, 44, told a press conference at London’s Somerset House there were “literally millions of reasons” for him to do the show before adding: “I have done tour, promo, tour, promo, for nearly 30 years and now it’s time to branch out and start something different and this is the prefect vehicle.”

He lavished praise on his 39-yearold actress wife who has “looked after me through thick and thin” and admitted he wouldn’t have agreed to take on the role had she not given him the green light. “Every move I’ve made professionally has been okayed by my wife. She has got better instincts than me.”

The involvement of Louis, 26 – the first former contestant to return as a judge – will come as no surprise to Day & Night readers as we revealed it last month. Going through the process himself when 1D came third in 2010 will be a big advantage: “I can empathise with people in that situation. It just made a lot of sense for me. Development is something I’ve always been interested in.”

Sharon Osbourne will also return as a judge for The X Factor’s live shows.
