Leno can be our De Gea

DAVID SEAMAN feels Bernd Leno could turn out to be the new David De Gea – in more ways than one.

Arsenal have paid £19.3million for the Bayer Leverkusen keeper, below, in the hope he will turn out to be as good as Manchester United’s De Gea.

Gunners legend David Seaman hopes so too – but says it took time for De Gea to adjust here. “You can only tell once they start playing in the Premier League,” Seaman said. “It is a totally different pace and physicality. You look at De Gea – when he first came here he had big problems when he didn’t realise how physical it was in the Premier League but he adapted to that and really kicked on. “With Leno, we have to wait and see what happens – if he is No1. Petr Cech has taken the No1 jersey so he is expecting to be around for a while.” ARSENAL Legends play Real Madrid Legends at Emirates Stadium on September 8. Brighton’s Northern Ireland midfielder, left, is wanted back by Slavisa Jokanovic after helping Fulham to promotion while on loan last season. But Norwood, 27, fears he will play only a bit-part role and is weighing up a move to Hull.

STOKE have signed James McClean from West Brom for an initial £5million. The Republic of Ireland winger, 29, has agreed a four-year deal.
