Jane and Michael Crouch used Bellway’s scheme to buy their “perfect” four-bedroom house in Brentwood, Essex. Keen to move to Mascalls Park, they struggled to sell their house in Romford.
“When Bellway suggested their partexchange scheme, it seemed like a no-brainer and from then on the move really was plain sailing,” says Jane, 55. “We were looking for a new home that is an easy commute to central London. I work long hours in the City and needed a good commuter location and Brentwood is ideal.
“I also wanted somewhere with access to the outdoors and Mascalls Park couldn’t be better. Once the final few houses are completed, we will have a footpath from the back of the estate that takes us all the way to Warley Country Park.”
Bellway’s part-exchange package is a free service, with offers based on independent valuations with no estate agent or advertising fees to pay and it’s still available for the final five-bedroom homes on the development, which range from £1,350,000 to £1,550,000 (01245 259989; bellway.co.uk). Similarly, Wayne and Amelia Colyer decided to use David Wilson Homes’ part-exchange scheme to move into a new four-bedroom detached house at Heathwood Park in Lindfield, West Sussex, near Haywards Heath.
PRODUCT manager Wayne, 41, explains: “The offer made to us by David Wilson Homes was exactly what we wanted, so we were delighted at such a great deal. Using part-exchange, we could sell our home directly to David Wilson Homes, allowing us to buy a much bigger and lovely new home. Unbelievably, it took just eight weeks from viewing the house until we moved and we had no worries about a chain collapsing.
“Such a quick move just wouldn’t have happened without part-exchange and we certainly didn’t lose out by going down this route. We avoided any fees, too, as David Wilson Homes takes care of these, so with the extra money we have been able to build a summer house in the garden for daughters, Eva and Ania to enjoy.”
