It just gets uglier for Sinfield

KEVIN SINFIELD called Leeds’ latest surrender “ugly” and admitted his concern as they gear up for a relegation dogfight in the Qualifiers.

The Rhinos were battered in the second semi-final at Bolton yesterday as Warrington reached Wembley in Australian coach Steve Price’s first season in charge.

“There are obviously some teams who are going to come after us and rightly so. We’ve got to be ready for that.”

Leeds winger Ryan Hall crossed first but Tom Lineham ran the length of the field to score a sensationa­l try, edging Warrington ahead midway through the first half.

Josh Charnley then touched down before Kevin Brown and Ben Murdoch-Masila went over to extend Warrington’s lead to 26-6 by half-time.

After the break Adam Cuthbertso­n reduced Leeds’ deficit but Charnley scored again before Toby King, Bryson Goodwin and Lineham touched down to send the Wolves to their into their second final in three seasons. Price said: “I’m ecstatic. It was a fantastic display of rugby and I’m really pleased the boys achieved our dream of reaching Wembley.

“We spoke all week about what Leeds Rhinos can produce because they have been the benchmark over the last 10 years, yet we executed the game plan superbly.”
