Top gardener’s winning no prizes for saving water

ARE we meant to applaud this man Grindle (“Heat’s on as Stuart battles to save prized lawn”, August 6)? He has, by his own admission, used an “inordinate amount” of water to keep his lawn in top condition in what has been one of the driest spells for decades.

I’m sure there are many with prized lawns, flower beds and veg patches who have had to see them suffer because of the drought. Christopher Jones,
