Boro still have pull says Pulis
TONY PULIS says players are not turning their noses up at a move to Middlesbrough.
The Boro manager failed to land any of his top transfer targets last week and is struggling to bring in loan signings, with Everton’s Yannick Bolasie top of his hitlist.
But Pulis denies that the Riverside is no longer an attractive destination for footballers. He said: “We’ve spoken to clubs, it’s just a case of getting the deals done – that’s the big issue.
“Without going into too much detail, players know about our interest and from everything that has been said, I think they would like to come here.
“I’ve not had anybody being disrespectful or saying they don’t want to join Middlesbrough or move to the North-east. The response I have had if we are given the opportunity to speak to players is they are very keen to come up here if a deal can be sorted out.”
Aden Flint returns to Ashton Gate to face former club Bristol City in the Championship today as part of a Boro side unbeaten so far this season. Flint became the club’s first summer signing when he left in a £7million deal and the centre-half has already proved a shrewd acquisition, slotting in seamlessly alongside 20-yearold Dael Fry.
“It was important to get Aden sorted out when we did,” said Pulis. PULIS: Struggle to bring loan targets to the Riverside
