But Poldark star Aidan Turner proved he is a mere mortal just like the rest of us as he tucked into a fastfood sandwich during a night out on the tiles.
The actor, who plays Captain Ross Poldark in the drama set in 18th-century Cornwall, perched on a stool and tore into his takeaway meal. The scythe-wielding sex symbol stayed true to his Irish roots, downing a pint of Guinness in London’s Soho during the evening with friends last week.
Aidan, 35, looked worlds away from his heart-throb role which famously saw him wearing a pair of fleshcoloured breeches as he strode out of the sea.
The unshaven star looked relaxed in a denim jacket, white T-shirt and black jeans, sporting a thick layer of stubble.

His muscled torso made headlines again this year when he was seen emerging from the sea, drawing comparisons with Daniel Craig’s iconic swimming trunk scene as James Bond in Casino Royale.
Aidan has previously confessed that “going shirtless wasn’t pleasant” and has branded Poldark a “flawed” character whose “heart is in the right place”. He let his hair down after the latest season of Poldark came to a gripping close last month.
Devotees of the hit BBC One show, which has regularly pulled in 4.7 million viewers, were moved after the heartbroken Ross placed his lastever kiss on the lips of his dead first love Elizabeth Warleggan.
The period drama has been commissioned for a fifth and probably final series next year, according to TV insiders.
