Leeds sweep back to top

-

LEEDS put in a tidy performance on and off the pitch as Marcelo Bielsa’s boys returned to the Championship summit with ease in a 3-0 win over Norwich.

The Canaries were swept away by first-half goals from Mateusz Klich and Ezgjan Alioski and one after the break by Pablo Hernandez.

And then the away side swept up after themselves by tidying Norwich’s famous pink away dressing room.

“Bielsa wants to change the mentality – that we are clean,” said Alioski. “After the game you can see how clean it is inside the dressing room. And the coach helps also. He cleans there.

“It’s really a respect he wants. It’s not only football; it’s also how the person is outside. He wants us to learn it’s not only the football that is important.”

John Fleck says Sheffield United fear no one after they continued their march up the league with a 3-0 demolition of Bolton. The Scot added to firsthalf goals from Mark Duffy and Kieron Freeman and said: “We might not be the biggest names but that’s where attitude comes in. If it’s right every week, which it is most of the time, then we’ll give anyone a game.”

Andreas Weimann has thanked Bristol City boss Lee Johnson for rerouting a career that had appeared pushed out to the margins. Weimann, a £2million snip from Derby this summer, has been restored to the role of central striker after years spent winging it out wide.

The result has been five goals in as many games for the Austrian, the latest of which ended Swansea’s unbeaten start to the season.

“It’s exciting for me,” said Weimann. “I definitely couldn’t have dreamed of a better start.”

Tomer Hemed was quick to prove his worth to Steve McClaren after joining QPR on loan from Norwich last week, scoring a debut winner that handed Rangers their first points of the season and lifted them off the foot of the table.
