Warnock knows score for Cardiff to stay up
CARDIFF have yet to score, let alone win, on their Premier League return. And they face five of last season’s top seven next.
Yet the smile on Neil Warnock’s face could not have been wider.
His wife Sharon’s battle with breast cancer has given him a new perspective on life and he intends to enjoy whatever happens. He is happy to report she is “in a good place”.
“Let’s enjoy it,” said the Cardiff manager. “We’ve got a difficult run of fixtures next, but they won’t decide our future. I want the players to embrace it all and not be anxious.”
Warnock, 69, relished being back at Huddersfield, who he led to promotion from the third tier in 1995.

captain Jonathan Hogg was stupidly sent off for clashing with Harry Arter.
Sean Morrison missed a fine headed chance for Cardiff.
The Bluebirds lack a prolific marksman and Warnock added: “You’ve got to score goals to stay in this league, so we’ll have to sort out the problem. We’re going to need double figures this season from one or two.” Huddersfield keeper Jonas Lossl frustrated Cardiff and he denied former Terriers striker Danny Ward when he came on for the injured Ben Hamer for his first taste of action this season. The Dane was gutted when David Wagner axed him because he returned for pre-season out of shape and has vowed to regain the No1 spot permanently. “I hate not playing,” said Lossl, who was part of Denmark’s World Cup squad. “I hate sitting there and watching.”
