I was ready to go says Morata

-

NUNO Esperito Santo says his Wolves side must be more clinical, despite notching up their first win at West Ham on Saturday.

Promoted Wolves have made a good start and sit 11th in the table, but manager Nuno, right, said: “Still we were not clinical enough. The difficult part is to create chances but, with the quality we have, things will arrive naturally.” ALVARO MORATA considered leaving Chelsea in the summer after calling his first season in English football “a disaster”.

The Spain striker, who joined from Real Madrid last year, fell away after a flying start and found himself out of the side, missing out on World Cup selection as a result.

And Morata, who has earned a recall for the UEFA Nations League games against England and Croatia, pondered leaving Chelsea in favour of a return home or a move to Italy. “I thought about playing again in Spain or Italy, of course, but you cannot always escape from reality,” he said.

“It was a disaster last year, I did not know where I was, I was not happy.

“I signed for Chelsea to go to the World Cup and it was hard when I was not picked. But I did not have the best season and Julen Lopetegui [then Spain coach] made his decision.

“I do not hold a grudge against Lopetegui. I wish him all the best and more now he is at Real.” BRADFORD have named David Hopkin as their new manager following the dismissal of Michael Collins on Monday. The Bantams fired Collins after a poor start and Hopkin, left, yesterday signed a two-year contract. The 48-year-old former Livingston boss, who had a spell as a player at Valley Parade, said: “The club are ambitious and so am I.” ●EVERTON midfielder James McCarthy is set to return to training at the end of the month as he continues his rehabilitation from a broken leg.
