Documentar­y following the work of medical emergency teams in the A&E department of Barnsley Hospital, beginning as severe weather conditions place it under even more stress than usual. Dr Julian Humphrey (left) tends to pensioner Brian who was brought in after breaking his ankle walking his dog. And paediatric consultant Dr Jane is called into action when four-year-old Teddy is rushed in after gashing his head in a sledging accident.

Sally (Sally Dynevor, above left with Michael Le Vell as Kevin) is nervous for her pre-trial hearing and goes looking for Sophie at No.13 only to walk in on her and Paula together. Acting impulsivel­y, she endangers her chances in court by sacking her legal representa­tive. Elsewhere, Audrey is upset when Maria reveals that Claudia plans to open her new salon in Victoria Street and Carla has no option but to keep Vicky on.

How else could a new series of Grand Designs start other than with a couple who set themselves a wildly optimistic deadline for their project? Kevin McCloud has certainly come a long way since his first televised project at Newhaven, East Sussex, in 1999 and tonight he meets Spanish architect Jaime and his wife Mimi (all left) as they embark on a mission to convert a Grade II listed folly into a family home in Buckingham­shire. Their deadline is six months, with a second child due at the same time! They soon run into trouble but Jaime puts all his energies and creativity into the project, using 3D mapping to squeeze living spaces into the tower. It all proves to be an exhausting struggle – but will they make it before Mimi gives birth?

Health: Trust Me, I’m a Doctor, BBC2, 8pm

Michael Mosley is slowly cornering the market in presenting medical programmes and this evening he finds out if a glass of wine can protect you from the harmful effects of junk food. Gabriel Weston looks at what is safe to eat and drink when you are pregnant, Giles Yeo sets out to test home breathalys­er kits and Zoe Williams finds out what you can do to improve your health if you are living with cancer.

Former Bond girl Olga Kurylenko (right) takes the lead in this 2015 action thriller. A retired thief is persuaded to carry out one last job – a diamond heist – by her former partner, only to get mixed up in a murder. With a ruthless assassin on her trail, she must unmask the secret conspiracy that has manipulate­d her into the line of fire. The support cast is led by strong performanc­es from Morgan Freeman, Hlomla Dandala and James Purefoy.
