Hart breaks Neil’s men
NEIL WARNOCK admitted even he had applauded Joe Hart’s wonder save in his side’s 2-1 home defeat by Burnley.
Former England No1 Hart made a brilliant flying fingertip stop to deny Josh Murphy and set up Burnley’s smash and grab.
Hart collected the man-of-the-match award and the praise of the disappointed Cardiff manager.
Warnock said: “That’s tough to take. It’s a cruel, hard game at times. We were by far the better team and get nothing.
“Hart gets the man-of-the-match award and that says it all really. Even I was clapping the one from Murphy. It was a fabulous save.”
Cardiff suffered their fourth successive Premier League defeat and have just two points to show for their efforts but Warnock remained upbeat, adding: “I don’t think I can get much more out of my lads. Burnley had two opportunities and took them.
“We’ve shown enough to get results but it’s a blow when you lose like that. I was disappointed with both their goals.
“How do I sort out the defence? I haven’t got a clue. I don’t know what to do. We can’t work any harder, that’s for sure.”
Cardiff were the better side and had 19 attempts on goal to the visitors’ three.
Hart kept the game level with his 68thminute stop and saw Sam Vokes nick victory with a header two minutes later.
Victory proved just the tonic for Sean Dyche, whose side now have back-to-back league victories after a horror start to the campaign.
But he played down Hart’s showstopper, saying it was the kind of save goalkeepers should be making.
“It was one he’d expect to save,” said Dyche. “I was more impressed with the way he dominated his box.
“He’s a quality keeper. What he needed from us was a base. He didn’t come to us for the money, that’s 100 per cent for sure.”
