Teacher in sex on plane trial ‘told me she lost the baby’

- By Rod Minchin

THE ex-boyfriend of a teacher accused of having sex with a pupil in a plane toilet only found out she had abortion two years later, a court heard.

Andrew Hall said Eleanor Wilson, 29, had broken the news of her pregnancy, but then told him she had lost the baby.

Mr Hall said he first learned that the science teacher had undergone a termination when detectives told him last December, Bristol Crown Court heard.

Wilson is accused of having sex with a boy aged 16 on a flight back to the UK after a school trip overseas in August 2015. The teacher Sex charges... Eleanor Wilson is alleged to have kissed and cuddled the student before “beckoning” him into the cubicle. Wilson was also said to have seen the boy outside of school. Mr Hall told the jury he and Wilson, of Dursley, Gloucestershire, had been together for nine years but they split up in August 2016. He said: “I remember the incident where Ellie called me and she had been rushed to hospital by a colleague and had gone to hospital for a procedure. “She described that procedure as having a blockage removed and I didn’t ask any further questions other than whether it would affect her chances of having a pregnancy in the future.”

Anna Midgley, defending, has claimed that although Wilson was pregnant, Mr Hall was the baby’s father, not the boy.

Mr Hall described the relationship as “dysfunctional” but denied he was “controlling” and “aggressive” towards Wilson.

He said it would be “incredibly unlikely” that he was the father of the child, but he told the court: “We were still having sex every few months.

“We could have had intercourse around the time of the school trip.”

Wilson denies four charges of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust.

The trial continues.
