Married dancer and comic: ‘So sorry for drunken kiss’
‘They were snogging in the street just like teenagers’
STRICTLY Come Dancing celebrity Seann Walsh and his dance partner Katya Jones last night issued grovelling apologies after they were caught kissing on a drunken night out.
The long-haired comedian’s girlfriend reportedly failed to see the funny side after he was seen in a passionate clinch with the professional dancer.
In a statement released after last night’s results show was broadcast, Seann, 32, who has been in a fiveyear relationship with actress Rebecca Humphries, said: “I would like to offer my sincere apologies for my actions. This is no excuse but it was a one-off drunken mistake which I am truly sorry for.”
Katya, married to Strictly choreographer Neil Jones since 2013, said: “I’m so sorry about any offence or hurt I may have caused with my actions. I wasn’t thinking and it was a one-off mistake after some drinks.
“I love my husband and we are very happy together, this is not a reflection on our relationship.”
The London-born funnyman was spotted smooching with the 29-yearold Russian outside a pub after a boozy night.
The hands-on pair got close after a cosy evening at the Duke of York in Marylebone, central London, where they downed wine as their other halves stayed at home.
Seann was seen moving in for a smouldering kiss with Katya, who was dressed in ripped hotpants, black tights and high-heel boots, as they frolicked in the street.
The dancer was seen arching her back and gyrating while Seann, wearing a striped T-shirt, leather jacket and pork-pie hat, laughingly takes a picture on his mobile phone.
One shocked onlooker said: “They’re stars on the biggest show on TV but they were standing in the street and snogging like teenagers. They didn’t seem to care who was walking past.”
Last night Seann was in the doghouse with Rebecca, who sat in the audience to support him on Saturday night.
She saw him perform a raunchy paso doble, inspired by the film The Matrix, a dance that Katya’s husband later described as “epic”.
The amorous encounter led to speculation the Strictly curse had struck another marriage but a show source said: “No one will be changing partners and it’s very much business as usual for all three.”
