Lady Gaga in Oscars frame

-

LADY GAGA says she’s elated to be odds-on favourite to bag an Oscar for her big screen debut in A Star Is Born.

The 32-year-old actress has topped the betting odds for picking up Best Actress at next year’s ceremony.

“That’s amazing!” she tells Day & Night about the news. “I loved every minute of making the film and it’s great how well it’s being received.”

Earlier this month A Star Is Born – actor Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut – arrived in cinemas worldwide and has now topped the UK box office for the second week in a row.

The duo created an original soundtrack for the film and now the current betting odds put Gaga at 9/4 to bag an Academy Award, alongside Glenn Close for her performance in The Wife. Other actresses on the list include Melissa McCarthy at 4/1, Olivia Colman at 5/1, and Viola Davis at 6/1.

In more good news for the Born This Way hitmaker she has also become engaged to 49-year-old talent agent Christian Carino.

Gaga, who has been dating Christian since the start of 2017 – confirmed the engagement at the Women In Hollywood Awards, hosted by Elle magazine in Beverly Hills.

The star, who was wearing a pink diamond ring on her ring finger during the event, got applause and gasps from the audience as she referred to Christian as “my fiancé” in a speech as she was honoured at the event.

Gaga was previously engaged to actor Taylor Kinney before calling it quits in 2016.
