CLEANSING TREND THAT WILL HAVE YOU IN A LATHER

-

SKINCARE seems to get more high-tech by the day.

However, the latest cleansing trend has gone back to basics with the humble bar of soap making a surprise comeback.

New figures from Waitrose reveal that sales have risen by seven per cent.

It’s thought the increase has been caused by shoppers shunning the plastic packaging that comes with hand wash, shower gel and face wash.

You may be worried that soap will leave your skin dry and tight.

However, the new formulas are packed with skin-friendly ingredients that are designed to hydrate and protect. Look out for shampoo soaps and conditioners, charcoal soaps that can tackle acne and dandruff, textured soaps that exfoliate and extra gentle cleansing bars for the face.

Rosina’s Natural Rose Soap, £5.50 (rosinaslotionspotions.com) is gentle on the skin and free from chemicals and artificial colours.

It is packed with rose oil which has healing and hydrating properties.

Mor Emporium Classics Candied Vanilla Triple-Milled Soap, £11 (feelunique.com) combines nourishing sweet almond oil, shea butter and vitamin E that’ll leave skin feeling velvety soft. Eau Thermale Avene Cold Cream Ultra Rich Soap-Free Cleansing Bar, £10 (feelunique.com) has a pH level that won’t irritate your skin. For advice on cosmetic surgery, consult your GP.
