Travel: Gordon, Gino And Fred: Road Trip, ITV, 9pm

We are in France this evening as Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix celebrate the nation’s cuisine. First Dates star Fred is eager to show off his cherished homeland and an old friend asks him to host an oyster festival in Arcachon on the Atlantic coast. As the superstar trio (all left) set off across France in search of ingredients, Fred is determined to show his companions the best his country has to offer. Highlights include the nudist beaches of the French Riviera, where Gordon attracts unwanted attention – an unruly pony – and Fred demonstrating his questionable musical skills. This show has proved to be a masterstroke by the people at ITV.

Real life: Rich House, Poor House, Channel 5, 9pm

The Llewellyns and the Hornans live rather different lives, despite just 20 miles separating their family homes in Rickmansworth. Ed (left) and the Llewellyn clan live in a three-bedroom maisonette and get by on just £97 a week, while the Hornans have a weekly budget of £2,300 and holiday in Italy every year. In this social experiment they swap homes, income and lives for a period of time. Is the grass greener on the other side? Is money everything?

Soap: Emmerdale, ITV, 7pm & 8pm

There are no secrets that time does not reveal, as the old saying goes. Dr Cavanagh and Bernice (Jonny McPherson and Samantha Giles, both above) could do well to remember that. Tonight, their secret relationship could well become a little less secret. Elsewhere, Leyla tries to convince Maya how much David cares about her but Jacob has to play peacemaker when Maya lashes out.

Science: Avalanche: Making A Deadly Snowstorm, BBC2, 9pm

Earlier this year an international team of scientists gathered in a remote valley in the Canadian Rockies to conduct a massive experiment – to trigger an avalanche in the hope of revealing the secrets of its lethal power. One of those involved, Professor Danielle George (right) fronts this documentary, revealing the difficulties in rigging the mountain before the snow came down and hearing from people who have survived avalanches.

Drama: No Offence, C4, 9pm

In the series finale, the team is left with no option but to go after the mayor following the dramatic turn of events. They put a spectacular plan in motion to bring her down once and for all but Viv’s ingenious strategy is threatened when one of the Friday Street officers is kidnapped. Joanna Scanlan, Elaine Cassidy and Will Mellor (all above) star as this superb crime drama series ends its third run in style.
