- By Russell Myers and Mark Reynolds

VICTORIA Beckham has a comforting arm put around her shoulders by son Cruz, 13, after balaclava-clad thugs were allegedly found trying to break into the family’s new Cotswold home.

Police are said to have been called to their £6million mansion in Great Tew, Oxfordshire, after their security team spotted the intruders on CCTV.

Guests at the nearby Soho Farmhouse are said to have disrupted the thieves as they peered inside.

A source said: “David and Victoria are absolutely devastated by this.”

It is the latest blow for Victoria, 44, after she was reportedly left in tears by her husband David, 43, suggesting their marriage is “always hard work”.

The comments are said to have left his wife distraught.

A friend claimed that the star was “in pieces” over an interview.

The source said: “When Victoria was given the heads-up about David’s interview, she was absolutely devastated. She has no idea why he would say such insensitive things and publicly embarrass her like this. As you can imagine, it was as if a nuclear bomb had gone off in the Beckham household when she found out.

“’She was in pieces, and spent the next two days crying.”

Yesterday, Victoria was pictured with Cruz and her husband as they went for a pizza in Sydney, where they are joining the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for the Invictus Games.
