It comes after he was sent to the stand in Saturday’s 1-0 loss to his former club Birmingham.
Rowett, right, was dismissed by referee Roger East after Stoke had two penalty appeals turned down.
The FA said: “It is alleged that his language and/or behaviour in the 87th minute of the fixture was abusive and/or

insulting and/or improper. He has until 6pm on October 25 to respond to the charge.” Stoke face Sheffield United away tonight and Rowett said: “My opinion is no different than it has been for a long time – we’ve got good players and are playing in a way which is creating opportunities. But we just lack a tiny bit of ruthlessness, certainly defensively at times, and in the other box on occasions too.”
