Jackett’s not comfortable
KENNY JACKETT was frustrated after Portsmouth’s lead at the top was cut to two points following a 1-1 draw with Accrington.
Pompey wasted several opportunities to win it after Stanley had missed a penalty.
Jackett said: “For the first 20-30 minutes we played very well, we had the wind behind us and we needed to score then.
“When you dominate and make chances, you need to take them.”
Stanley boss John Coleman said: “In the second half I thought we were excellent.”
Peterborough cut Pompey’s gap with a 2-1 win at Burton, leaving their manager Steve Evans to say: “We showed two sides to our game today. One was outstanding and then we had to dig in late on backed by our support.”
Jack Ross believes his third-placed Sunderland are ‘acclimatising’ after a 3-0 win over Southend.
Ross said: “We are learning that this league isn’t easy. Today’s performance, this type of game, would have caused us problems before.” 1 Liverpool 2 Chelsea 3 Man City 4 Arsenal 5 Tottenham 6 Bournemouth 7 Watford 8 Man Utd 9 Everton 10 Wolves 11 Brighton 12 Leicester 13 West Ham 14 Crystal Palace 15 Burnley 16 Southampton 17 Cardiff 18 Fulham 19 Newcastle 20 Huddersfield
