Thirty-two people died on Bloody Sunday during the Irish War of Independence.
IRA gunmen shot dead 14 British soldiers and police in Dublin, while the British-backed Royal Irish Constabulary retaliated by slaughtering 14 civilians at a Gaelic football match. Three Republican prisoners held in Dublin Castle were also killed.
