Beckhams’ £6m country mansion is raided again

BURGLARS have targeted David and Victoria Beckham’s £6million Cotswold mansion for the second time in a month, police confirm.

The couple were said to have been left shaken by the latest burglary attempt on their Chipping Norton home after a balaclava-clad gang tried to break in last month.

Officers said the former England footballer, 43, and fashion designer, 44, were not at home when a man was chased off by security staff and guard dogs last Wednesday.

Both incidents are thought to be the work of a local gang targeting their home when they are away.

A source close to the family said: “Luckily they had laid on extra security after the last incident, including several staff and dogs, who were able to protect the property, otherwise this could’ve had a very different outcome.

“They are re-evaluating their security again and will bring in more if they need to.”

Last night, a Thames Valley Police spokesman confirmed officers were called to reports of a “man behaving suspiciously” near the property on November 14 at 6.15am and are investigating. No arrests have been made.

The last attempted break-in was on October 19 when the Beckhams’ security surveillance team noticed a gang of men wearing balaclavas on the property’s CCTV.

They were also spotted by neighbours, who ran after them before they could get any closer.

David and Victoria were understood to have been on their way to Australia with sons Romeo, 16, Cruz, 13, and daughter Harper, seven, at the time.

Victoria was pictured soon after looking distressed. It was later revealed the mother-of-four was terrified the gang had been so close to getting inside her home.

A friend said at the time: “It has been so tough for Victoria. She and David are absolutely devastated by this. They are extremely protective of their family and their home life, so the thought that people would intrude on that is so upsetting for them.

“David would love to be normal but his number one priority is to protect his wife, children and wider family.

“He is furious that he now has to increase his security even more.”
