Noel’s in hot water after row with Nick over Jungle chores

- By Andrew Jameson

TEMPERS boiled over in the I’m A Celebrity jungle last night, as Noel Edmonds and Nick Knowles clashed over hot water.

New camp leader Nick, who had previously done most of the work around the site, told the Deal Or No Deal host to be careful taking the lid off the big pot, saying: “You get crap on the underside and it makes the water taste s***.”

Noel later whined: “Nick’s doing a great job reminding us of the regulations, delegating extremely well, making the right decisions – all the hallmarks of a great leader.”

Earlier, John Barrowman, James McVey and Rita Simons were flown to the Outback on choppers for an abseiling and raft challenge. They returned with 10 out of 11 stars – John missed his when zooming down a zip wire.

But despite John saying he should not eat because of the gaffe, Nick insisted he would himself go without the meal of chicken and roast beef, with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, vegetables and salad.

Nick told John: “You have had a very physical day, which means if you don’t get a good meal tonight then in two days’ time you’ll crash with it.

“I’m pulling rank on it – you had a big day and I didn’t.”

Debut

Meanwhile, ITV said the first episode of the new series of I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, featuring new host Holly Willoughby, was officially the most-watched launch episode in the show’s history.

It has been seen by 13.7 million viewers over the past seven days and the overall number has grown from the original overnight ratings, showing 11 million people tuned in for the first episode.

The broadcast on November 18, which saw Holly make her debut as Ant McPartlin’s replacement alongside Declan Donnelly, grew by one million more viewers in the consolidated data compared with the series launch in 2017.

Consolidated ratings include viewers who have recorded the broadcast and watch up to seven days later.

ITV said an additional 479,000 viewers watched the programme on its online video-on-demand service, ITV Hub, bringing the total audience to 14.2 million.

The 2018 launch is the second most-watched episode in the show’s history, trailing the finale of the 2004 series which saw Kerry Katona crowned Queen of the Jungle.

That was watched by a total 14.7 million viewers.
