Holly Wallaby? ...don’t be silly it’s a koala!
I’M A Celebrity host Holly Willoughby gave her family a taste of the outback yesterday when she took them on a trip to a wildlife park in Australia where they got to hug koalas and play with kangaroos.
The 37-year-old presenter took her three children to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, a heritage-listed zoological garden on the Gold Coast.
The site has koalas, crocodiles, kangaroos and wallabies and the whole family posed for pictures with the country’s most iconic animals before enjoying lunch at the Queensland tourist attraction.
Before this series of I’m A Celebrity started, Holly told how she was bringing her family, including her children, to stay with her in Australia while she was filming. Her husband Dan Baldwin, 43, was alongside her to join in the fun yesterday with oldest son Harry, nine, seven-yearold daughter Belle and youngest son Chester, four.
Holly previously said: “From the point I said ‘yes’ my whole focus has been working out the family logistics.
“The kids are coming out to Australia so we’ve had to organise tutors. My mum and dad are joining us and Dan will fly back and forth.
“I’m looking forward to taking the kids to Australia and just having that real outdoor living experience, going to the beach – and saying goodbye to this cold weather.” Since landing Down Under the family have also been spotted learning to surf.
Holly shared a series of snaps of her children wearing T-shirts like those worn by contestants when they visited the I’m A Celebrity set earlier this week.
But she faced criticism from some followers who questioned why the youngsters were being taken out of school for the trip.
One loyal fan leapt to her defence writing: “They’re being schooled while in Australia. She couldn’t leave her kids for months overseas.
“Obviously she’s allowed to take them with her as long as they’re being privately schooled, so they don’t miss out on anything.”
