Eubank’s knockout new role as a US policeman
FORMER boxing champion Chris Eubank yesterday released a bizarre video of him working as a policeman in America.
The eccentric 52-year-old sported his trademark bow tie as he described his new role on Twitter while standing at the scene of a car crash in the rain.
“Sergeant Eubank proudly on duty in Louisiana,” he captioned the post.
“All warriors protect and serve, whether one wears a badge or not.” In the video, he adds: “This is simply a car crash – doesn’t look too bad, no injuries, but I don’t have a rain coat like the rest of the officers, but that’s OK.”
His fashion sense drew comment, with one woman telling him: “I’ve never seen a cop with a tie before,” to which he replies “Yes, yes”.
Eubank claims he has a job as a police marshal in Opelousas, Louisiana – despite run-ins with the law in the UK.
Eubank was arrested in October 2003 during a protest over the Iraq War.
He drove a truck with the words “Tony Blair! Military Occupation Causes Terrorism” emblazoned across it around Parliament Square. Two years later, he was convicted of taking a beer truck after threatening to “deck” the driver in a row as he drove his children to school.
The former world middleweight and super-middleweight champion has previously been travelling across the US giving talks on how to “peacefully defuse difficult situations”. Since retiring, Eubank has supported son Chris Eubank Jr’s boxing career.
