Return our boy, fearful dad begs mum on the run

- By Brian Farmer

A FATHER has pleaded with his former partner who vanished with their young son to end their existence “on the run”.

Ellie Yarrow-Sanders disappeared with three-year-old Olly Sheridan six months ago.

Patrick Sheridan, 45, begged Miss Yarrow-Sanders, 26, to return Olly after an “unbearable” Christmas.

He said: “I hope Ellie sees sense and comes forward so that this can be sorted out and Olly can have a normal childhood, not living on the run.

“My boy needs both of his parents in his life and not to live a life undercover, hidden away from his family and the rest of the world.”

Olly is at the centre of a court dispute between his estranged parents.

Miss Yarrow-Sanders disappeared with him in July just weeks before she was due to give evidence in a “critical” court hearing. She has not used her bank accounts or phone since then, according to Mr Sheridan’s lawyers.

A note reportedly left by Miss Yarrow-Sanders “promised” she would keep Olly safe. It said: “This letter is for you to understand why I’ve had to do what I’ve done.

“It’s for you to show to the police and the court to explain myself. This is the only thing I could do for Olly to have any semblance of a childhood with his mum.

“I’m really sorry to leave you all but we have no other choice and I promise we will be OK! I will never let any harm come to Olly.” The letter, published online last year, came to light as Mr Sheridan this week renewed an appeal for her return.

A judge initially raised the alarm in December and urged anyone with information to come forward.

Mr Justice Williams, who oversaw a hearing in the Family Division of the High Court in London, said that he was gravely concerned.

He allowed the pair, from Basildon in Essex, to be identified in the hope that publicity will help find them.

Essex Police are searching and have urged anyone with information on their whereabouts to get in touch.

Lawyers representing Mr Sheridan said that Miss YarrowSanders had “gone underground”.

Mr Sheridan added: “Please, if any members of the public who might have seen Olly or have any information, call the police.”
